Just after noon today, Trumbull Regional Dispatch Center started receiving numerous 911 calls reporting multiple motor vehicle accidents on Route 25 North, just north of the Daniels Farms road overpass.  Nichols Car 2 was first on scene and reported a 4 vehicle accident in the area of the Whitney Avenue overpass with one car into the woods.  Trumbull Center Car 3 arrived on scene and established command while NFD Car 2 was assigned operations.  Operations reported no occupants of any of the involved vehicles were trapped.  Shortly after, TRDC dispatched another rollover with confirmed entrapment on Route 25 South, approximately 1/4 mile from the northbound location.  Command re-directed Trumbull Center Rescue 100 to the southbound accident and used Trumbull Engine 102 to work on removing the occupant from the woods.  NFD Rescue 300 was assigned to investigate and secure hazards pertaining to the 3 other vehicles involved in the accident.  FD units closed down Route 25 in both directions for almost an hour while assisting EMS with patient removal.  Shortly after 1300 hours, all apparatus were released.   Despite the icy conditions and multiple patients, a fine job was done by all members working both scenes.
